Pottstown Riverfront Park, 140 College Drive

As summer winds down, there’s no better way to enjoy the Schuylkill River Trail than by joining us for Ride for the River, one of Schuylkill River Greenways’ largest annual fundraisers.

Since 2014, Ride for the River has brought hundreds of cyclists together to explore the trail while supporting SRG’s work to protect, improve and connect the Schuylkill River and the communities along it.

Each year, riders can choose the route that works for them, from a 30-plus-mile ride to shorter options for those looking for a more leisurely day on the trail. Over the years, routes have taken cyclists north into Berks County and south toward Valley Forge National Historical Park.

For many riders, Ride for the River has become an annual tradition. For others, it’s their first introduction to SRG and the work we do throughout the Schuylkill River Heritage Area.

And please stick around after the ride to enjoy the afterparty with Sly Fox Brewing Company

Wherever you are on your cycling journey, come ride with us and support the river and trail along the way.

Ride for the River Volunteers

We wouldn’t be able to put on this ride every year without the many volunteers who help with planning, trail improvements, route markings, and other general activities the day of the event.

Volunteers receive a food and beer/beverage ticket bundle.

General Event Volunteers: Assist with route markings, road crossings, parking signs, rest stops, check in, and other tasks during the event. Volunteers receive a free t-shirt, food & beer. Volunteers in this category won’t be able to participate in the ride.

Parking/Registration Volunteers: For volunteers who wish to assist with morning parking or check-in, and still be able participate in the ride. Volunteers receive a free t-shirt, food & beer, but must purchase a registration to participate in the ride.

Those interested in volunteering should click here, or email events@schuylkillriver.org or call 484-945-0200.
