Walk In Art Center is open Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; Saturday - 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm; an opening reception will be held on Dec. 29 1-3 p.m.

Scenes of the Schuylkill is an annual juried art show and sale that celebrates the beauty of the Schuylkill River region through art. It is hosted by the Schuylkill River Greenways NHA every fall, in partnership with Montgomery County Community College in the West Campus gallery. A selection of 15 pieces from the 2017 exhibit is on display at the Walk In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven from Dec. 20-Jan.31. Join us for an opening reception in the main gallery on the third floor of the Walk In Art Center on Dec. 29 from 1-3 p.m.

The Walk In Art Center Selections were chosen from 96 works of art and photography that were included in the 14th Annual Scenes of the Schuylkill, which ended on Dec. 17. The selections consist of the winning and top entries, culled from a total of 128 original submissions by juror Rachel McCay, assistant curator at the Woodmere Art Museum. See photos below.

    2017 Scenes of the Schuylkill Selections

    New this year! MCCC Alumnus Becky Morris has created an artistic rendering of the Schuylkill River on wood panels that will be displayed outside the gallery from November 15 to December 17. Click here to see more photos of this beautiful artwork.

    A selection of the art will be exhibited at the Walk In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven from December 20 to January 31, 2018. Selected works will include all winning entries listed above, as well as the following pieces:

  • November 2: Show opens to the public.
  • November 15: Scenes of the Schuylkill Reception, 6-8 p.m. Invitation only.
  • December 17: Show ends.
  • December 18: Pick Up Artwork, 12–7 p.m. at MCCC Gallery, 16 W. High Street, Pottstown.
