This marks the 30th year of “Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill,” one of Berks County's most popular and longest running holiday events. The theme this year is ‘Frozen in Time,’ featuring visits from Jack Frost to help decorate Gring’s Mill park and barn with his icy breath.
Thousands of lights will illuminate trees and displays throughout the park and along the walkway from the parking area to the decked-out barn, including some new displays for 2017. The program features live entertainment each night, great snacks, visits with Santa Claus and our popular model train display located in the building on the bridge spanning the Tulpehocken Creek.
Opening weekend begins Friday, December 1st, with Santa arriving at 6 pm, with some special guests visiting the park! Featured entertainment is Mt. Laurel Brass in the upper level of the barn from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The Mike Hertzog Trio takes the stage on Saturday, December 2nd with some seasonal music with a country & bluegrass sound. And on Sunday, December 3rd, from 1 to 4 pm, there will be a free Kids’ Holiday Craft Workshop with “Snowy Tales Upside-down” Interactive Theater by the Yocum Institute for Arts Educations Teen Theater and Jr. Theater Ensembles. In the evening, the musical entertainment continues with Maria Damore and Ken Bagenstose from 6:30-8:30 pm. A $5 parking donation per car is requested at the park gate.
